Description:

The 1/10 scale EP 2WD off-road Ultima, which was first released in 1986, represented a milestone created by Kyosho for the increasingly competitive R/C buggy scene. Incorporating cutting-edge technology of the time, the Ultima demonstrated outstanding performance from its debut, achieving a remarkable 1-2-3 finish in the 2WD class at the 1987 World Championships in the UK. The Ultima Pro, released in 1988 as the natural evolution of the Ultima, now returns as the 21st model in the Kyosho Vintage Series.

While the original Ultima used a monocoque frame combining a U-shaped aluminum chassis with a resin upper deck, the Ultima Pro adopted a double-deck layout with a flat aluminum chassis and FRP upper deck. This provided an ideal balance of rigidity and controlled flex, while offering greater freedom for mounting the R/C electronics and battery. The re-release retains this proven structure while incorporating longer front lower suspension arms, as used on the later version of the original Ultima Pro introduced in 1989, to increase track width. The wheelbase is also extended by 10mm compared to the later version of the Ultima Pro, further improving driving stability. Front and rear oil shocks, a key feature of any off-road model, feature gold anodized bodies with dial-adjustable spring tension, providing a more race-oriented specification than the original Ultima Pro. The front and rear shock towers, which absorb the loads transmitted from the shocks, are made from FRP and are dedicated to the Ultima Pro.

Named for the Japanese word meaning “ultimate,” the Ultima Pro represents the culmination of the original Ultima series, which achieved great success in the world of racing. Its return adds another iconic chapter to the proud history of the Kyosho Vintage Series.

• 2.2-inch wheels expand tire options. The rear wheels are also compatible with Optima-series offsets.
  
• Full ball-bearing specification, including the servo saver.
  
• Assembly kit requires R/C electronics and power source.
  
• Flexible design accommodates shorty batteries and allows vertical battery mounting when using a low-profile servo.
